Welcome! Thanks for stopping by. I invite you to check out my designs. I work primarily in brass, bronze, and copper. I love the "warmer" metals. Years ago, I developed an allergy to nickel so I wore gold. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing like gold, but it can be a little boring when you are putting that special outfit together and you want to make a statement! I couldn't wear plated pieces because they have to be "dipped" into nickel in order to get the gold to adhere to the brass,so........... I was stuck with boring gold hoops or ears that were a mess. My neck would break out too. What to do?? Well, I found some lovely brass earrings...big and bold...with a gemstone and I could wear them!! I was in heaven! I almost wore them out. One day the stone fell off on one of them and I was back to square one. Brass earrings were hard to find. Art shows were not as popular then as they are now. I started looking for supplies and found sheets of brass...now what? Found a class in my town and signed up. It was once a week for 6 weeks. When they showed me the little bitty saw blade that was supposed to saw through the big piece of brass sheet I had, I was ready to quit. At the end of the six weeks I was still sawing away. The other students were working with silver and it is much softer and easier to work with. The class offered soldering, but I didn't get that far. After the class, I went home with my saw and my half finished earrings and went to work in my spare time. I finally ended up with a pair, but I won't tell how long it actually took me to learn the whole process. I loved every minute and still do. I really prefer designs that are interesting and that catch your eye. I do love the design part and it is challenging to make the design work. It is very important for a piece to be lightweight and comfortable to wear as well as look beautiful when you wear it. Again, thanks for visiting my page! I'll be adding new designs regularly. Hope you see something you like.
